The process

The Art of Pressed Flowers

Let me create a beautiful keepsake of your special day by pressing your bridal/special occasion bouquet with love, and then carefully creating an artistic display of your preserved flowers you can admire for years to come.

I use various techniques on different flowers to press them effectively. The flowers are gently deconstructed before being professionally hand-dried using natural methods. Flowers pressed with love and delicately repurposed into a bespoke, one of a kind piece of art that is ever evolving with each petal carefully considered and every frame custom made within New Zealand.

How it works

Pressed with love

1

CONTACT ME FOR AVAILABILITY

Because each piece is made by hand, I take on a limited number of commissions each month to ensure your artwork receives the love and care it needs.

Get in touch before the wedding using my contact form, and tell me more about your flowers. If I have availability for your wedding date, I’ll let you know more about how your flowers typically press and what flowers are suitable for pressing, plus gather more information on your style.

I do not offer refunds or exchanges except for unforeseen damage to the frame in transit so please read my FAQS before touching base.

2

SEND IN YOUR FLOWERS

I’ll need the flowers within 4 days of your wedding date. The fresher the flowers the better the outcome. Please trim the stems if possible after the wedding and place in a vase. Keep flowers hydrated but try not to wet the petals. Please do not hang flowers to dry upside down.

You’ll need to organise overnight shipping (ask a family member or bridal party if they can help. This is a unique opportunity for meaningful art so I'm sure your loved ones will want to help!). I can send you some tips  on packing your bouquet once you book in.

Also very welcome to drop to my studio in Seatoun, Wellington.

3

DRYING & PRESSING

Once it arrives I will work quickly to press the flowers. The drying process could take up to 6 weeks. Please allow 4 to 6 months (during peak season) for your artwork to be finished. Flower pressing requires patience but the results often astound and inspire.

4

LET THE FUN BEGIN!

Each petal is carefully considered to create the composition. It's an intuitive process but every detail is obsessed over to create the perfect outcome for the flowers and presented in custom made framing.

5

DELIVERY

Once finished we will discuss collection be that local pick up or courier.
